There is 2 printed pattern conductor on the dielectric base plate.
2printed pattern distance is 1mm. I want to calculate 2pattern capacity by using fast cap.Dielectric base plate permittivity is 2.50 I input outperm(1.0+2.5)/2=1.75 .(When Iinput1.0 then it becoms small value different from measurement value)
What outpermittivity should I input? Please give me opinion.
*2 printed pattern conductor32mmx40mm air and dielectric interface*
C plate32x40.out2 1.75 0.0 0.0 0.0
C plate32x40.out2 1.75 33.0 0.0 0.0
D plate(32x40)die.out1 1.0 2.5 0.0 0.0 0.0 32.5 20.0 0.85 –

Dear Akio,

So you have 2 conductors plates, and a dielectric base plate.

The 2 conductors are likely sourrounded by air, so a dielectric permittivity of 1.
If you have these two conductors plates on the dielectric base plate, you should define the interface between conductor-and-dielectric as a structure (I mean, a *.out file).
Have a look on the fastCap's user guide, page 7 and following, for a better description, based on an example.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Akio,

I am new to FastCap. I can not understand why you calculate the average of 1 and 2.5 as(1.0+2.5)/2=1.75.

Thank you for your time in advance!

Regards,
Rio
