Hi all,

I am new to FastCap2 and planning to use it for my research. I tried running it from fastmodel but it is getting struck and not giving any results. when i run from fasetmodel, tt just says Running and doesnt proceed further.

output:

Running fastcap 2.0 (18Sep92)
Input: C:\jampani\shi\Thesis\FastCap\test.qui

input (conductors in parallel as given in the demo) :

Can any one please help me out in solving this problem.

ya..i made that mistake of not putting the title...thank you very much for your help..

Can you please let me know how I can apply a specific voltage to a conductor (i.e making some of the conductors connected to ground and applying 1V to the target conductor for which i have to find the capacitance considering it as an interconnect)

Then does your input file have a title line, as first line, beginning with '0', as described in the manual and as you can see in the tutorial at ht*p://w*w.fastfieldsolvers.com/ under 'Demo'?

Example:

0 this is an test - this must be the first line of the file
T firstcoord 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 1.0 0.0 1.0 0.0 0.0
T firstcoord 1.0 1.0 0.0 0.0 1.0 0.0 1.0 0.0 0.0
Q secondcoord 0.0 0.0 0.1 0.0 1.0 0.1 1.0 1.0 0.1 1.0 0.0 0.1


If the file does not begin with a title line, it is assumed to be a PATRAN format file and parsed accordingly, so if the format is different it will lead to errors.

I checked with your file, without adding a title line, and in fact FastCap2 hangs up. This is related to a minor bug we will fix in next release, thanks for finding out.

Anyway, the correct solution is to have a valid input file.

Have you checked if the 'list file' option is 'off' in FastCap2 Run dialog?
