I checked the available tutorials and looked through the program myself, so far unsuccesfully:

Does FastCap / FastHenry provide an option for solving 2d rotation symmetric models?

I'm trying to characterize "smeared" inductance and capacitance matrices of individual windings of a coil. My approach of choice would be to model the winding as individual rings (i.e. just squared in 2d rotation symm.) and get a good approximation of inductance / capacitance matrix for individual windings.

Dear Jonas,

thank you for your interest in the Fast Solvers!

FasterCap is able to solve for the capacitance of such a structure; but it does not directly support symmetry nor is a solid modeler. So there is no way currently to specify a 2d profile and find a rotational symmetry solution.

What you can do is to define a 3d geometry corresponding to the 2d rotated model (you may use some script as most of the users do).

I will be glad to assist you for any further request you may have.

Best Regards,
Enrico
